FINLAND/NORWAY GRAND PRIX

Wild Card FRANKIE YOUNG (NEWMARKET RAIDERS) turned in a stunning display to win the Finland/Norway GP and impress on the international stage once more, following on from his recent British Final success.  KENNI ALGREEN (ABERAVON GEMS) finished behind him in the Grand Final and moved further clear at the top of the standings, matching Young's 17 point total over the round.  Another rider stepping in for this round was JERZY WIECZOREK (BRATISLAVA BUZZARDS) and he completed the rostrum after a solid round in which he racked up 12 points.  LOUIS JOOSSENS (TWEESIDE TIGERS) had a mixed round but made it to the Grand Final and has done enough to retain 8th place overall.

RAY FRANCE (KING'S LYNN LIGHTNING) and LAURENCE CHAMBERLAIN (LANARKSHIRE LIONS) both reached the Semi Finals and added 12 points to their overall total, France moving up to 2nd and Chamberlain to a joint 3rd place with RAFAL ARANOWSKI (READING REBELS) who had a poor round, scoring just 6, by his high standards.  Other Semi Finalists were FILLIPPE CHONG (NECRONS) and RHODRI SZCZYGIEL (CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS) and the pair both keep a firm grip on top 8 spots in the series as we hit the halfway mark with 4 rounds of the 8 completed.  ARNE KARLSEN (BIRMINGHAM BOURNVILLAINS) missed the meeting through injury and drops from 4th to 7th overall but should be fit for the next round and will be looking to improve his standings over the second half of the series following his misfortune.
